About Eli Saab
Elie Saab is a Lebanese designer who was interested in women's clothing design from an early age. At the age of 17, she went to Paris to perfect her art and, in 1982, at the age of 18, she returned to Beirut and opened her shop with 10 employees, creating, in addition to haute couture dresses, the most exclusive wedding dresses.
The stylist quickly gained a great reputation and was the first non-Italian designer to join the Italian Camera Nazionale della Moda. In 2003, Elie Saab exhibited his first haute couture collection in Paris with great success. One of her famous creations is the dress Halle Berry wore when she won the Oscar for Best Actress in 2002.
As for the wedding dresses, the designer creates the dresses always focusing on the romantic and soft models, employing hand-embroidered appliqués. He's a fashion-defying stylist, creating above-the-knee-length wedding dresses that are very revealing of the feminine silhouette, but he balances his bold designs with elegant fabrics and magnificent embroidery.
