Eckhaus Latta Spring/Summer 2027: A Downtown Wardrobe in Two Acts
Mike Eckhaus and Zoe Latta’s Spring/Summer 2027 show placed their independent collection alongside a second runway segment for their J.Crew collaboration. Vogue reports that guests opened envelopes of confetti after a cue of laughter on the soundtrack. That shared gesture supplied a playful setting for clothes whose individual shapes often begin with something familiar.
Four Selected Silhouettes
The first selected photograph pairs a dark sleeveless knitted upper layer with pale trousers. A lighter collar frames the neck, and a striped band sits across the torso. The trousers leave the upper half visually compact, making their straight, open line a substantial part of the outfit’s balance.
A second look places a pale short-sleeved top above a rich purple skirt. Its lower edge crosses the legs at different heights, turning an otherwise simple combination into a more uneven outline. The contrast in colour makes the point where the two garments meet particularly clear.
The Effect of a Hem
Another dark T-shirt is set above a grey, irregularly draped lower half, with a narrow red line visible at the waist. The shirt supplies a familiar, relatively quiet surface; below it, the folds change direction and interrupt the expected length of the skirt. The effect depends on a small number of visible decisions rather than an accumulation of decoration.
The final selected image uses a longer black sleeveless layer over a contrasting neckline. Its darker vertical shape brings the eye down to the hem and the pale shoes beneath it. Seen together, the four photographs show how a wardrobe of recognisable separates can shift through changes in colour, layering and the angle of an edge.
