6397 Spring/Summer 2027: New York Heat and the Everyday Wardrobe
Updated: 6 hours ago
6397’s Spring/Summer 2027 collection treats summer dressing as a question of daily life in New York. Vogue describes it as the label’s first full runway show, bringing together founder Stella Ishii and designer Lizzie Owens around the problem of dressing for a busy city in intense heat. The four selected photographs offer different answers through loose shapes, overlapping layers and concentrated changes of colour.
Light Layers and a Clear Line
A pale, lightly patterned outfit sets a loose upper layer over a narrow lower half. The fabric falls away from the shoulders rather than holding a rigid shape, and the exposed lower leg gives the outfit a relatively light base. The subdued colours keep attention on the relationship between the two lengths.
A pale blue shirt and bright red floral skirt create a much stronger division. The shirt remains open around the neckline and relaxed through the torso; the skirt establishes a narrower line below it. The print supplies the most emphatic surface, so the rest of the styling can remain comparatively restrained.
Denim, Shine and Volume
A short brown jacket changes the proportions of a third look. Its hem ends above roomy blue jeans, while a much longer dark layer trails at one side. The different lengths remain visibly separate. That separation makes the outfit read as a combination assembled around the wearer rather than as a single continuous silhouette.
The final selected photograph moves toward paler tones and a longer skirt. A short-sleeved grey upper layer meets a light band at the waist above a softly reflective blue lower half. The contrast between the comparatively matte top and the skirt’s sheen gives the outfit definition without needing a sharp change of colour.
These four looks share an interest in how ordinary pieces sit together. Their character comes from the placement of a waist, the amount of room in a leg or the length left below a shirt. The result is a set of distinct silhouettes whose detail remains closely tied to the act of getting dressed.
