Design Analysis: Art Deco Geometry at Villa Erba
At Villa Erba on Lake Como, Gabby and Andrian's wedding drew on The Great Gatsby and the visual language of the 1920s. The couple traveled from Jakarta to celebrate in Cernobbio, choosing a historic villa whose architecture could support the glamour of a Jazz Age-inspired event. Vincenzo Dascanio was credited for floral design and decoration.
The concept combined gold and black with geometrical and botanical motifs. These formal cues relate directly to Art Deco, allowing the floral arrangements to support the period reference without turning every object into a literal vintage prop. The villa's established character gave the composition an architectural foundation.
Balancing geometry with natural material is central to the treatment. Strong lines and metallic surfaces create a controlled framework, while flowers soften the transition between built forms, tables and the room. This combination makes it possible for an event to evoke a historic era but still feel newly designed.
Quattro Studio's original photography account identifies the venue, couple and contributors, including Italian Weddings & Events for planning and Vincenzo Dascanio for flowers and decor. The studio's photographers Mary and Maurizio are named in the source. The specific photograph chosen for publication should still be matched to the credited photographer and its applicable permission.
