Shangri-La Tokyo by André Fu Studio: Selected Dining and Suite Interiors
A Tokyo commission brings distinct dining settings and suites into a design approach shaped by a Japanese sense of place.
Selected spaces within a Tokyo hotel
André Fu Studio’s Shangri-La Tokyo portfolio entry is dated 2010. The commission described by the studio encompasses three dining venues, the 3-Bay Suite and the Presidential Suite, with an overall ambition to express a Japanese sense of place.

Different settings for dining
The selected official photographs reveal intimate lounge seating and more formal restaurant interiors. Dark joinery, framed partitions, decorative pendant lights and sculptural installations give the settings distinct identities within the broader commission.

A residential suite setting
In the suite living room, layered seating, chandeliers, mirrored upper panels and a fireplace create a residential atmosphere. Sofas and chairs gather around low tables, giving the formal volume a series of intimate settings.
