Kiss from Fleur Brings Vibrant Florals to an Orthodox Wedding in Mykonos
Tradition Meets Contemporary Styling
This Mykonos wedding was designed around the meeting point between Greek Orthodox tradition and a more international, modern visual language.
A Shift in Atmosphere at Rizes
After the ceremony, the celebration moved to Rizes, where the reception introduced a vibrant floral palette and a more expressive party atmosphere.
Cultural Continuity
The project is a useful example of destination design that does not erase cultural context. Instead, it allows ceremony tradition and contemporary reception styling to coexist within one narrative.
Traditional Ritual, Expressive Flowers
The Orthodox ceremony in Mykonos gave Kiss from Fleur a clear cultural and architectural framework. A small island church, bright white surfaces and the surrounding Aegean setting created a restrained backdrop for a wedding that combined religious traditions with colorful contemporary floral styling.
Roses and orchids in fuchsia, lilac and cream introduced the most expressive notes. Two large ceremonial candles were dressed with flowers and golden anthuriums, extending the palette into elements associated with the ceremony itself. The result was vivid but still related to the intimate scale and symbolism of the space.
Music was also integral to the progression of the celebration. The sounds of laouto and violin accompanied the bride’s arrival, and the ceremony included traditional rituals such as ceremonial wreaths. These details were not treated as decorative accessories; they defined the experience around which the styling was organized.
Following the ceremony, the reception moved to Rizes. The change of venue allowed the design to shift from sacred setting to a livelier gathering with an assertive floral presence. Together the two spaces show how a wedding can preserve cultural identity and still present a distinctive, fashion-conscious decorative point of view.
