José Graterol Designs Creates a Fantasy Luxury Wedding at St. Regis Bal Harbour
Editorial Analysis: Fantasy, Geometry and Reflection
For Kara and Robin's wedding at the St. Regis Bal Harbour Resort in Miami, José Graterol Designs developed a visual language that combined architectural ceremony pieces with an energetic, richly furnished ballroom. The couple's aim was an exuberant celebration with a large dance floor and multiple lounge areas, giving the designer scope to integrate flowers, furniture, lighting and floor graphics.
The ceremony used custom white octagonal structures dressed with asymmetrical flowers, positioned to relate to the tropical greenery already surrounding the site. Green foliage and white flowers continued down the aisle, creating a transition between the building's planted setting and the purpose-built ceremony structures.
Inside, the reception took on a more maximalist character. Rose-gold-and-black printed backdrops framed lounges arranged like living rooms, with sofas, stools, tables and decorative lighting integrated around an oversized dance floor. Flowers in purple, white, red and fuchsia added saturated color to the greenery, while cherry blossom trees, modern candles and gold-mirrored surfaces amplified the room's reflective qualities.
The seating-card installation extended the fantasy concept through silver spheres, gold stars and gold floral elements.
