The Perigon by Tara Bernerd & Partners: OMA Architecture Meets Contemporary Residential Luxury
The Perigon brings Tara Bernerd & Partners together with OMA on a new residential project in Miami Beach. The interior architecture was conceived in direct response to OMA's sculptural building, with the design studio describing its role as a way of marrying bold architecture with contemporary luxury.
Rather than competing with the exterior geometry, the interiors use a softer and more tactile vocabulary. Natural stone, warm timber, woven surfaces and upholstered furniture introduce visual depth while maintaining the clean lines and generous proportions expected of a waterfront residence.

The lobby establishes that balance immediately. Curved seating, large-scale stone surfaces and carefully placed planting create a formal arrival without making the space feel ceremonial. The palette is deliberately quiet so that material texture and the changing Miami light become primary elements.

Residential lounges continue the same approach through layered neutral tones and sculptural furniture. Bernerd's language is contemporary but avoids short-lived styling, favouring substantial pieces, rounded profiles and a mix of polished and tactile finishes.

The connection to Miami Beach is handled through atmosphere rather than obvious coastal motifs. Light colours, expansive glazing and open layouts emphasize sea and sky, while richer textures prevent the interiors from feeling minimal or anonymous.

Across the shared spaces and residences, the design aims for what Tara Bernerd & Partners calls a fresh, textured, considered and timeless aesthetic. That phrase is visible in the way decorative detail is concentrated in materials and furniture rather than applied ornament.

The Perigon is ultimately a collaboration between two strong design identities. OMA supplies the building's bold architectural framework, while Tara Bernerd & Partners creates interiors that soften, humanize and extend that framework into everyday residential life.
