The IFC Residence by André Fu Studio: High-Rise Residential Design in Shanghai
Shared lounges and richly textured rooms bring a stately-home atmosphere to Shanghai’s IFC Residence.
A mansion idea in Pudong
For The IFC Residence, a residential hospitality project in Shanghai’s Pudong district, André Fu Studio shaped a 2012 interior around the intimacy of a stately home. The design unfolds through a series of distinct chambers rather than one continuous reception space.

A layered arrival
A library lounge opens to a terrace overlooking Lujiazui Park, while a more enclosed living room gathers around a fire. This sequence balances generous shared spaces with settings that feel private and domestic.

Texture and light
Embroidered wall panels introduce caramel, gold and olive tones, accompanied by oversized crystal-glass floor lamps. The official photographs show how symmetry, upholstered seating and carefully framed openings give the interiors a composed rhythm.
