Shuting Qiu Shanghai Spring/Summer 2027 'Untamed Bloom': Maximalism Without Restraint
Shuting Qiu presented Spring/Summer 2027, Untamed Bloom, during Shanghai Fashion Week in October 2026. The collection placed the designer’s interest in dense visual language at its most unapologetic, creating a world where familiar natural references were enlarged, distorted and combined with little regard for conventional restraint.

The Collection and Its Design
Floral imagery grew to dramatic proportions, animal markings appeared in unexpected colours and feathers became part of a language of excess. Such motifs can easily feel disjointed, but the designer’s proposition was to make the friction between them productive. The collection embraced maximalist styling as a way to explore freedom and self-presentation rather than as ornament for its own sake.

The Runway or Presentation
On Shanghai’s official calendar, the show appeared among a range of independent brands and international participants. It offered a highly visible alternative to minimalist tendencies elsewhere in the season, demonstrating how the city’s runways provide space for distinctive personal design languages.

Why It Matters
Untamed Bloom is a useful record of fashion in which abundance becomes an aesthetic argument. The result asks how far colour, print and texture can be pushed while a designer’s signature remains legible.
