PRONOUNCE Pre-Fall 2027 'Through Her Eyes': Ten Years and a New Perspective in Shanghai
Designers Yushan Li and Jun Zhou celebrated the tenth anniversary of PRONOUNCE during Shanghai Fashion Week in October 2026 with Through Her Eyes, a special collection catalogued in Vogue’s Pre-Fall 2027 archive. The event marked a return to Shanghai and introduced womenswear as a central means of examining the brand’s existing work on masculine and feminine codes.

The Collection and Its Design
Rather than place traditional gender categories in direct opposition, the designers proposed a shift of perspective. Clean tailoring, elongated lines and relaxed layers allowed masculine and feminine references to sit within garments without requiring a grand declaration. The collection used historical Chinese dress ideas as flexible tools for construction rather than as fixed images to reproduce.

The Runway or Presentation
Casting extended across generations. Dr Qin Huilan, a retired Shanghai physician who became known internationally for her fashion enthusiasm and runway appearances, joined the finale. The gesture brought a personal and lived-in quality to a collection concerned with identity, time and who gets to define the meaning of clothes.

Why It Matters
Through Her Eyes is both an anniversary statement and a study in the ways design language can move between genders and generations. It should not be mislabelled as the regular Spring/Summer 2027 menswear runway; it is a distinct, specially presented Pre-Fall 2027 collection.
