Marine Serre Spring/Summer 2027 'The Deep Shine': Light, Shape and the Crescent
Marine Serre’s Spring/Summer 2027 collection, The Deep Shine, places the familiar crescent inside a wardrobe that moves between close-fitting dresses, generous sportswear and more emphatic evening shapes. The house describes the season through light, material and movement. In the official lookbook, those ideas become a series of contrasts: matte against reflective, fitted against inflated, and muted colour against a much brighter accent.
Changing the Scale
An early beige ensemble makes the shift in proportion particularly clear. A cropped, high-necked jacket has pronounced shoulders and rounded sleeves, while the trousers swell below a low, layered waist. A printed hat and pale shoes complete the look. The outfit borrows the practical signs of sportswear, but its silhouette is much more sculpted than an ordinary tracksuit.
Brown pieces explore a similarly expansive outline. A short, rounded upper half can make the bare leg look longer, while a long coat above wide trousers builds a more continuous column. These are useful counterweights to the narrow skirts and fitted dresses elsewhere in the lookbook. The collection does not depend on one standard of how closely clothes should follow a body.
The Crescent at Different Distances
The crescent changes its role with the scale and placement of the pattern. On a pale fitted dress, repetition can read almost as texture. In a darker, more open surface, the motif becomes a clearer graphic rhythm. Handbags and compact accessories provide another concentrated point at which the house’s identity can appear.
The more restrained combinations are important. A white shirt and dark flared skirt, or a dark tailored jacket over a collared layer, let construction and styling take priority over print. A pale dress with a tiered lower edge offers a softer line, while cropped denim and striped knitwear introduce a recognisable daywear register. The collection repeatedly returns to clothes that are straightforward to read before altering their surface or scale.
Colour and Surface
Later images sharpen the palette with yellow-green, pink and blue. A bright short dress, a fitted pink top above loose denim, and colourful fabric gathered beside a darker garment create different kinds of emphasis. The colours can stand alone or become part of a more complicated assembly of print and drape.
That range is what gives The Deep Shine its interest. The crescent remains a stable point of recognition, but the surrounding wardrobe changes attitude from image to image. The strongest combinations give a distinctive material or proportion enough room to lead, without asking every part of the outfit to compete.
