KIMHĒKIM 'Seoul Light' 2026: A Tenth-Anniversary Runway at Seoul Fashion Week

KIMHĒKIM’s 2026 Seoul Light presentation revisits the house’s visual language for its tenth anniversary. The official archive records it separately from the brand’s seasonal collections, an important distinction for a show built around a decade of recurring ideas. Its range is immediately visible: long, hair-like strands, oversized bows, sharp dark tailoring and playful changes of scale all share the same runway.

When Decoration Becomes Structure

The first image turns pale, flowing strands into a whole silhouette. Braided bands run down the front of a fitted upper half, while long lengths fall from the sleeves and hem. Black boots make a strong contrast beneath the moving surface. Decoration does more than finish the garment here; it defines the body’s outline and the way the dress occupies space.

Related looks repeat the idea in warm gold, soft pink and pale blue. Some shorten the hem to expose more leg, while others extend the strand-like surface over a longer shape. The colours change the mood, but the construction remains recognisable. That repetition gives the anniversary a sense of an established technique being tested again.

The Scale of a Bow

Bows offer another clear thread through the gallery. On a small dark dress, one can dominate the chest while the rest of the silhouette remains simple. Pale versions soften the contrast, and denim pieces carry the same enlarged gesture into a more casual material. The effect depends on proportion: a familiar fastening becomes a structure large enough to redirect the whole outfit.

The surrounding tailoring supplies a more controlled register. Black jackets, long trousers, white shirts and compact skirts keep returning between the sculptural pieces. Some outfits expose the waist or open the chest; others use an emphatic white collar or a cropped jacket to interrupt a dark surface. Even the quieter combinations retain a precise point of exaggeration.

Repetition, Pairing and Play

Several photographs show paired models or another angle on an outfit. Those views make it possible to compare variations rather than reading the gallery as fifty entirely different designs. Matching dark suits, contrasting shirt fronts and differently sized garments turn the familiar format of a runway sequence into a small study of repetition.

Large black-and-white shapes bring a stronger graphic element, while later outfits attach prominent pale floral forms to dark dresses or trousers. These details can be theatrical, but the garments beneath them often stay direct. A long trouser, a short dress or a plain shirt remains visible as the starting point.

Seoul Light works as an anniversary because it allows those methods to coexist. Flowing strands and a crisp suit may seem far apart, yet both rely on a controlled change to an expected outline. The show makes the house’s identity legible through construction and scale as much as through any single motif.
