IST TOO at Shangri-La Istanbul by André Fu Studio: Marble and Steam-Age Glamour
Turkish marble, warm furnishings and golden light shape a generous dining interior at Shangri-La Istanbul.
A signature restaurant in Istanbul
IST TOO at Shangri-La Istanbul is a 2013 dining interior by André Fu and AFSO. The original design brief describes an 800-square-metre restaurant planned for 230 diners, with a generous scale and an informal atmosphere.

A warm interpretation of glamour
The concept draws on the warm tones and glamour associated with the steam age. Turkish marble, rich upholstery and golden lighting bring together European references and a response to the local setting.

Distinct places within the dining room
The official photographs reveal a patterned reception area, wine-framed tables and a broad main room beneath a grid of lights. Along the windows, banquette seating and repeated glass pendants create a more intimate rhythm within the larger interior.
