Akira Back at Four Seasons Seoul by André Fu Studio: Bamboo Screens and Floating Leaves
Bamboo screens, glowing lanterns and a lacquered-leaf installation shape a dramatic dining interior in Seoul.
Bamboo as a theatrical structure
André Fu Studio’s 2015 dining interior at Four Seasons Seoul, listed under Akira Back in the studio’s archive, uses the rhythm of bamboo screens to create a theatrical Japanese dining setting. The layered structure gives the tall space a series of smaller, framed dining areas.

Light and a sense of movement
Glowing lantern shades sit within the screen structure. A commissioned installation of lacquered leaves appears to lift from a tall plinth and move across the space, bringing a sculptural expression of nature into the room.

Detail at the dining table
The official photographs show tables and upholstered booths within the screened volume, alongside a dark floor and illuminated stair treads. A close view of the tabletop and place setting extends the material story to the dining surface.
