Horizon Lounge at Shangri-La Tokyo by André Fu Studio: A Sky Lounge Within Shangri-La Tokyo
Amber upholstery, dark lacquer and sculptural lighting create a residential atmosphere at Shangri-La Tokyo’s Horizon Lounge.
A lounge with a residential mood
AFSO’s 2009 Horizon Lounge at Shangri-La Hotel Tokyo takes travel as its starting point. An intimate reception leads to the main lounge, where custom furnishings and deliberately informal arrangements give the shared space a residential atmosphere.

Amber, lacquer and sculptural light
Amber upholstery and dark lacquer define the material palette. A sculptural chandelier combines champagne-gold metallic plates with crystal beading, introducing a luminous centrepiece within the lounge’s framed architecture.

Different places to pause
The official photographs show a chess table, a compact work area and smaller dining settings beside trunk-like cabinetry. Patterned chairs and illuminated shelves add further layers, bringing domestic details to spaces intended for both quiet activity and conversation.
