Anne Sofie Madsen Copenhagen Spring/Summer 2027: Geometry, Optimism and Unexpected Lightness

Anne Sofie Madsen and Caroline Clante presented Spring/Summer 2027 in Copenhagen on 3 August 2026 with a determination to look forward rather than dwell in fashion nostalgia. The collection proposed imaginative lightness as an active response to an uncertain cultural moment.
The Collection and Its Design
Square-based pattern cutting was the technical premise. Rotating simple geometric forms allowed the material to drape in unexpected ways, creating layered chiffon pieces that blurred the boundaries between athletic ease and delicate eveningwear. Tailoring carried lingerie-like straps, while reworked sports garments and a collaboration with Nike introduced a contemporary, functional counterpoint.
The Runway or Presentation
The staging and clothes drew on a world that was both everyday and otherworldly. Strange floral forms suggested invented plants rather than botanical illustration, while airy surfaces produced an impression of floating around the body. The visual language was hopeful without becoming merely sentimental.
Why It Matters
The collection demonstrates how experimentation with basic shapes can produce unexpected elegance. Its importance within Copenhagen’s anniversary season lies in showing that a new fashion vocabulary can grow from structural thinking and handcraft, not just from reference to the past.

The New Desire — The Official Copenhagen Collection
On 3 August 2026, Anne Sofie Madsen presented The New Desire, a Spring/Summer 2027 collection developed around the possibility of imagination rather than inherited design rules. The square was a governing structural idea. Because a square begins without an implied front or bodily direction, the studio could rotate and interrupt it through tailoring, allowing new silhouettes to emerge from an elementary shape.
Layered organza and silk chiffon created shifting relationships between the wearer and their clothing. Bias-cut satin sat beside hand-smocked organza dyed in gradual peach tones, while strips of sand-washed silk created moving horizontal forms. The resulting shapes were simultaneously technical and delicate, giving the Copenhagen runway a language separate from conventional summer minimalism.
A live performance by Danish recorder virtuoso Michala Petri turned the soundtrack into an active component of the presentation. In addition, selected Nike jerseys were reworked into new runway dresses, and the Nike First Sight Shadow made its runway debut. These details belong to this exact SS27 show and should not be confused with the brand's AW26 image archives.
