Silvia Venturini Fendi belongs to the third generation of the family that transformed a Roman fur and leather house into one of the leading names in Italian luxury. Her career combines family heritage, accessories and functional innovation.

Growing up at the heart of the house

Surrounded by her mother Anna Fendi and her aunts, Silvia encountered materials, craftsmanship and the house codes from an early age. She later worked on accessories and menswear within a house also shaped by its long collaboration with Karl Lagerfeld.

Creating the Baguette bag

In 1997, Silvia created the Baguette, a small bag worn under the arm and produced in countless materials and decorative treatments. The model became a symbol of handbag culture in the 1990s and 2000s, with additional visibility through Sex and the City.

Her work illustrates how a family house can preserve its codes without freezing tradition. Her influence on accessories, proportions and functionality connects Roman craftsmanship with contemporary culture.
