Design Analysis: Roberto Cohen’s Concept, Executed by Patricia Vaks
Yael Cohen and Rafael Dahis's wedding at Copacabana Palace occupied three distinct rooms: Palm, Cristal and Gallery. The principal decoration concept was authored by Roberto Cohen, who was also the bride's father and the event planner. Patricia Vaks was credited with executing the decoration. Keeping these roles separate is essential to understanding both the creative authorship and the production behind the finished result.

The contemporary palette combined earthy flowers and trees with copper-colored chargers and orange-toned glassware. Dark furniture, mirrored finishes and transparent acrylic chairs added contrast, giving the classical rooms a distinctly modern character. Guests could move between different areas, including a party-oriented zone and more relaxed spaces, while encountering the same material vocabulary.

Above the dessert table, white flowers and branches cascaded with crystal pendants, giving the room a more theatrical center. Copper serving trays continued the warmer palette below. Lighting and reflection were particularly important because the arrangement relied on the contrast between dark surfaces, clear acrylic and shimmering details.

The source credits Roberto Cohen for planning and the decoration concept and Patricia Vaks for its execution. Photography is by Renata Xavier. This distinction also highlights the collaborative nature of complex luxury events, where the design concept, specialist realization, furniture and venue operations must work together to deliver the intended atmosphere.
