Editorial Analysis: An Intimate Speakeasy at Hotel Unique
Carol Marraccini and Romero Rodrigues celebrated a small wedding in the presidential suite of Hotel Unique in São Paulo. Their idea was a sophisticated, intimate event with the feeling of entertaining friends at home and a subtle 1920s speakeasy influence. Vic Meirelles designed a restrained green-and-white decorative scheme that worked with the suite rather than trying to make it resemble a large ballroom.

The outdoor ceremony was anchored by a green wall, candlelight and a transparent altar dressed with abundant garlands of white flowers and foliage. The transparent material allowed the plants to remain central while respecting the architecture of the suite terrace. This approach was particularly well suited to a small gathering in which every guest could see the details closely.

Inside, the reception continued with calla lilies, roses, hydrangeas and baby's breath alongside more greenery and candles. The contrast between the exterior ceremony and the interior celebration was gentle, allowing the guests to move between the two spaces without encountering disconnected visual styles. Lounges and practical circulation supported the relaxed hospitality the couple wanted.

The wedding was planned by Toda de Branco and photographed by Juliana Kneipp. Meirelles was responsible for decoration and flowers. The project demonstrates how intimacy, a controlled botanical palette and a clear relationship to existing architecture can make a private-suite event feel fully designed without relying on monumental decoration.
