Design Analysis: Yellow Foliage and Suspended Candlelight

Julia Temke and Alexandre Franceschi's Rio de Janeiro wedding used color and overhead decoration to animate an outdoor reception. Patricia Vaks brought blue and yellow accents into the glassware and table setting, while candles suspended above the guests added a luminous second layer to the design. The palette felt distinctive because it was carried beyond the flowers into the objects on the table.

Dried yellow foliage appeared in the suspended arrangements alongside greenery and candles. This combination of branches, warm-toned leaves and small points of light brought the visual identity up into the air, allowing the tables below to remain connected to the ceiling treatment. The repeated yellow accents formed a unifying thread throughout the event.

The dessert area was staged outdoors with logs, glass prisms used as candle lanterns and a mix of crystal, silver and aged-iron trays. These varied materials gave the composition a collected feeling without abandoning the color scheme. The contrast between reflective vessels and natural wood was especially effective in a garden context.

Patricia Vaks handled the decoration, with flowers by Orlando Ambrósio and furniture by Ambiente Eventos and Chiavari. The photographs are credited to Sergio Greif. The design illustrates the value of coordinating vertical decoration, tabletop color and smaller display objects, rather than treating each part of the venue as a separate visual project.
