Fantastic Beasts 4: Is the Sequel Still Happening?

Fantastic Beasts 4 has not been officially announced by Warner Bros. Discovery. There is no confirmed release date, production start, screenplay, director or returning cast list for a fourth film.

What is the current status?

The series has been on hold since Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore arrived in 2022. Director David Yates later described the franchise as “parked,” explaining that the team had not moved into active development on another installment.

Eddie Redmayne and Jude Law have also said publicly that they were not aware of an imminent fourth film. This does not make a future return impossible, but it means reported plots, casting claims and release dates should be treated as speculation.

Wasn’t the story planned as five films?

A five-film plan was discussed when the franchise launched, but a proposed plan is not the same as a production commitment. Only three films have been released, and Warner Bros. has not published an active timetable for films four and five.

Is there a Fantastic Beasts 4 release date?

No. Dates circulating on fan pages, social media and concept-trailer videos are not official. A reliable release date can only follow a formal studio announcement and confirmed production schedule.

Where is the Wizarding World focusing now?

The franchise’s confirmed screen project is HBO’s new Harry Potter television adaptation. Until Warner Bros. announces otherwise, Fantastic Beasts 4 should be considered unconfirmed and on hold.
