Vic Meirelles Creates a Green Botanical Wedding for Paula Sarney and Gustavo Lo Re
Editorial Analysis: Greenery, Fruits and Gold
Paula Sarney and Gustavo Lo Re's wedding at Casa Higienópolis was built around green, a color personally significant to the couple. Vic Meirelles designed the reception decoration with abundant foliage, green fruit and controlled gold accents. Rather than using a conventional white-flower centerpiece as the main expression of romance, the setting used the strength of greenery as an entire decorative language.
Tropical leaves appeared in generous tabletop arrangements and even as place markers, with guests' names rendered in gold over tableware supplied by D. Filipa. Fruit was not merely a secondary ingredient. Some centerpieces incorporated green fruit, including an occasional piece colored gold. The idea connected the decoration to the groom's relationship with Palmeiras through color and small personal symbols.
The dessert arrangement continued the tropical direction, using foliage and flashes of pink fruit to break up the monochromatic green. Gold accessories kept the presentation celebratory without obscuring the botanical focus. The choice of natural materials was especially effective because it made even playful personal details feel part of a unified concept.
Vic Meirelles is credited for the reception decoration; the church decoration was by Rubens. The original wedding photographs are credited to Pat Secchin for Rodrigo Sack. The project shows how a personal association with color can be transformed into an elegant visual system spanning tableware, flowers, fruit and lighting.

Design Notes
The bride asked Vic Meirelles for a design centered on green and an abundance of plants.
The published account describes the resulting botanical atmosphere as a major part of the wedding experience.
