Vic Meirelles Creates a Green-and-White Civil Wedding for Andressa and Andinho
Design Analysis: Green-and-White Pattern and Intimacy
For Andressa and Andinho's daytime civil wedding at Espaço Iate in São Paulo, Vic Meirelles designed a classic setting at an intimate scale. The event was held on a Thursday for around 35 guests, and the design avoided the assumption that a smaller wedding requires a less considered visual identity. The predominantly green-and-white palette created consistency between the ceremony, cocktail reception and lunch.
One of the strongest gestures was the custom pattern developed for tablecloths and cushions. These textiles created a deliberate mix-and-match composition rather than a perfectly uniform dining room. Embroidered napkins bearing the couple's monogram added a further personal layer, with small-scale detail carrying much of the decorative impact.
The dessert installation was arranged around the gazebo's tree, combining sweets with a generous grouping of floral arrangements. By taking advantage of an existing architectural and landscape feature, the display formed part of the setting instead of becoming a separate freestanding piece. Guests moved between an interior cocktail space with round tables and a gazebo lunch area with a communal table and smaller surrounding tables.
Vivi Farah coordinated the wedding, while the event furniture and textiles were supported by specialist suppliers including Lounges, Mesalinho and Arte na Mesa. The original photography is credited to Carol Thusek. The project shows how bespoke prints, embroidery, foliage and the careful use of an existing tree can give a modest-scale daytime celebration the character of a fully designed environment.
