The all-white wedding at St. Regis Bal Harbour in Miami began with a particularly clear creative brief: the couple wanted a luxurious setting in which white would dominate the visual experience. José Graterol Designs approached that request through both decoration and architecture, installing a mirror-finished ceremony runway and transforming the ballroom with white carpeting.
The reflective aisle multiplied the apparent volume of the ceremony area by capturing the ceiling and room above it. Its effect depended as much on the surrounding architecture as on the surface itself. The white floor treatment in the reception then carried the monochrome atmosphere into a different setting, establishing continuity without repeating the exact installation.
Working largely within one color family places a greater emphasis on form, materials and light. The distinction between different whites, reflective surfaces and floral textures becomes more important when the palette is restrained. In this project, the design's ambition came from scale and a coordinated environment rather than contrasts between many bright colors.
