José Graterol Designs Creates a Romantic Garden Wedding at Miami Beach EDITION

A Progressive Garden Concept
José Graterol used a modern garden vocabulary rather than relying on conventional ballroom florals.
A Printed Rose Runway
The studio created a runway from photographs of three-dimensional roses and clusters, transforming floral imagery into a graphic surface.
The Design: A Garden Translated into Graphics
Melanie and Ben’s celebration at The Miami Beach EDITION approached wedding decoration with the ambition of an interior design commission. With the bride’s mother herself an interior designer, José Graterol developed a scheme in which flowers, printed surfaces and architectural elements formed one deliberately coordinated environment rather than separate ornaments.
The ceremony combined a richly planted chuppah with greenery, climbing vines and flowers in white and pink. Its soft garden character was set against more experimental gestures in the ballroom: an aisle printed with images of individual roses and floral clusters, fabric panels with marble or botanical patterns, and a dance floor that repeated the marble motif.
The overhead treatment was equally important. Gold square forms overlapped above the room, supporting blown-glass vases filled with orchids. High and low garden arrangements created a changing rhythm across the tables, allowing floral volume to be experienced at different heights without reducing the entire design to traditional centerpieces.
What distinguishes the project is the way a two-dimensional print becomes part of a three-dimensional event. The floor, walls, ceremony structure and suspended flowers speak the same visual language, while lighting and reflective details bring movement. The result reads as a curated garden installation inside a contemporary Miami hotel.
