Carol Hungria’s Iconic New Arrivals: Bridal Personality on the São Paulo Runway

An archival look at Carol Hungria’s 2019 Iconic New Arrivals bridal presentation at JK Iguatemi in São Paulo.
From sketch to runway
Carol Hungria’s Iconic New Arrivals presentation at Shopping JK Iguatemi in São Paulo opened with an unexpected gesture: the designer stepped onto the runway before her models. Working on an iPad, she drew the Iconic Lacroix dress live, with the sketch shown on screens before the finished gown appeared.

Lace, embroidery and individual style
The 2019 collection built its bridal vocabulary around personality. Classic lace, hand embroidery, shimmering tulle and three-dimensional flowers offered different ways to approach the wedding dress, including a short design. References to fashion houses such as Lanvin, Givenchy, Prada and Dior appeared within Hungria’s own interpretation.

Finishing the bridal look
Natural-looking skin, graphic eyeliner and colorful Julio Okubo jewelry completed the presentation. These photographs document the collection as an archive of bridal design rather than a current-season launch.
