All about the wedding of Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin

Updated: Oct 25, 2024

Casamento Justin Bieber e Hailey Baldwin

To arrive at the super hyped ceremony, it all started when Justin proposed to Hailey during a trip to the Bahamas, in July 2018. It was during dinner at the hotel where they were staying. Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin danced together and the pop star got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. As expected, the bride was a little emotional and immediately accepted the request. The day after the request, the singer declared himself to the model on Instagram.

With just under two months left for the wedding, the Bieber's sent a save the date in a very lively and creative format to the guests. It was an illustration in which the two appeared together and with little information about the wedding.

It is worth remembering that Hailey and Bieber had already secretly made their civil union official at the registry office the previous year. There was a lot of anticipation for the religious wedding to arrive and everyone could see Hailey dressed as a bride.

The night before the wedding, the couple gathered their closest family and friends for a pre-wedding sleepover and showed off their favorite movie, The Notebook, according to the Daily Mail. They also organized games, a party and bowling and the guests dined on ice cream and sweets.

The wedding that rocked social media took place on Monday, September 30, 2019, at the Hotel Montage, in South Carolina, United States. The hotel is known for hosting large weddings and has a wooded area with a huge lake. A great feature of the hotel is the Somerset Chapel, where the couple exchanged their vows at sunset. According to reports at the time, the hotel sent an email to non-Bieber wedding guests to explain that for 48 hours they would not be able to access the spa, pool and one of the restaurants.

The Sun tabloid reported that after the ceremony, cocktails were offered to guests, before the formal reception and dinner at the Wilson Ballroom restaurant.

Among the guests were Kendall Jenner who is very friendly with the couple, Kylie Jenner, Travis Scott, Usher, Ed Sheeran and Jaden Smith. There were around 150 guests. Including Bieber's first girlfriend, Caitlin Beadles, was among the guests.

For the pre-wedding dinner, Hailey was seen wearing a short white off-the-shoulder dress by Vivienne Westwood and Jimmy Choo sandals. Westwood explained that the bride's dress was "made with organically produced, eco-friendly and cruelty-free peace silk - which allows the silk butterfly to live beyond the cocoon." The dress chosen by Hailey for the big day was from the brand Off-White, made by the stylist and friend of the bride, Virgil Abloh. It was a mermaid model, with a shoulder-to-shoulder neckline and long sleeves, all embellished with lace appliqués, very small pearls and a long train. To complete the look, the model wore a long veil with the phrase “Until death do us part” stamped on the hem. She also wore a pair of five-carat diamond earrings and an 18-carat band encrusted with Tiffany Soleste diamonds.

Bieber, meanwhile, wore an 18-carat gold Tiffany Classic wedding ring.

Another small luxury of the party was the bottle of Moët & Chandon champagne, personalized especially for the wedding, with the date of the union. How about it, huh?

During the celebrations, singer Daniel Caesar was responsible for the musical part of the party.

And a “cute” detail that was shown in the documentary series “Justin Bieber: Seasons”, was when the singer reported that he was so nervous that he even fumbled when confirming the votes. At certain times, even though he's used to all the spotlight, he also feels butterflies in his stomach, doesn't he?
