The dresses from the Oscar de la Renta bridal collection show modernity and diversity. 3D applications, texture and classic lace are some of the features of the new collection's dresses. Along with the collection, the novelty of demi-couture pieces. In the new collection of wedding dresses, Fernando Garcia and Laura Kim created a modern bride, which uses slits, deep necklines and lots of transparency.

Demi-couture pieces are also new, which can be customized according to the bride's wishes. In short, the bride can choose one of the models in the collection and make changes to have the dress of her dreams. The arrival of demi-couture accompanies the needs of fashion that is getting faster, but it doesn't lose the essence of the almost artisanal production of a wedding dress.


In the new collection, the dresses have a more modern proposal, with 3D applications, feathers and models different from those seen in classic wedding dresses.

About Oscar de La Renta

Óscar Arístides Ortiz de la Renta Fiallo, known as Oscar de la Renta (Santo Domingo, July 22, 1932 – October 21, 2014), was a Dominican naturalized American fashion designer and stylist.


Son of a Dominican mother and a Puerto Rican father, at the age of eighteen he moved to Spain. He has worked in several fashion houses such as Cristóbal Balenciaga, Antonio Castillo and Elizabeth Arden. In Madrid he began his studies to become a painter, but soon changed his career path and became a stylist, gaining fame when a creative dress of his was worn by the daughter of the US ambassador and appeared on the cover of Life magazine.


Oscar de La Renta died on October 21, 2014, at the age of 82.

The last bride to wear a wedding look signed by Oscar de La Renta was Amal Alamuddin, when she said “yes” to George Clooney on September 27, 2016. The skin was tailored for the occasion that brought together 200 family guests at the seven star hotel Aman Grand Canal Venice, located in the Papadopoli Palace in Venice. The look would already be the last of her career, which she intended to retire after.


Kate Bosworth also opted for an Oscar de La Renta when she married Michael Polish on August 31, 2013, in a country-style ceremony.

Other famous also wore designer-signed dresses, such as Hillary Clinton, Jacqueline Kennedy, Barbara Walters, Sarah Jessica Parker, Nancy Reagan, Laura Bush (daughter of former US President George W. Bush), Katherine Heighl and other brides.
