Mugler Spring/Summer 2027 “Naturalia X”: Nature, Technology and Transformation
For Spring/Summer 2027, Miguel Castro Freitas closes his opening trilogy at Mugler with “Naturalia X”, a collection that deliberately blurs the boundaries between the organic and the synthetic, the sensual and the engineered, the natural body and a technologically altered image of nature.
Nature after Mugler
The collection does not treat nature as pastoral. Organic forms are sharpened, stretched and stylized into a Mugler vocabulary of controlled curves and dramatic body-conscious lines. Animal references, psychedelic surfaces and high-impact silhouettes make the natural world feel heightened rather than literal.

Body, technology and transformation
Castro Freitas continues to explore the house’s fascination with transformation, but with a less nostalgic approach to futurism. Transparent surfaces, engineered shapes and exaggerated anatomy meet softer organic cues, allowing past and future to coexist rather than compete.

A psychedelic ecosystem
Björk’s influence hangs over the collection’s vision of nature as something strange, erotic and intelligent. Faux-animal effects, vivid textures and recycled materials build an ecosystem where glamour is inseparable from mutation and where the body becomes the point at which technology and instinct meet.

Mugler Spring/Summer 2027 is the most explicit expression yet of Castro Freitas’s project for the house: recognizable Mugler sensuality pushed toward a world that feels both ancient and speculative, alive and artificial.
