Francis Cabrel : l’âme de la chanson française

Francis Cabrel incarne depuis plus de quarante ans une certaine idée de la chanson française : sincère, poétique et profondément humaine. Avec sa guitare et sa voix douce, il a su traverser les générations sans jamais trahir son authenticité.


Les débuts d’un artiste discret mais passionné

Né à Agen en 1953, Francis Cabrel grandit dans le Sud-Ouest de la France, une région qu’il ne quittera jamais vraiment. Passionné par Bob Dylan, il apprend la guitare en autodidacte et commence à écrire des chansons empreintes de tendresse et de réalisme.En 1974, il se fait remarquer avec Petite Marie, un hommage bouleversant à sa femme. Le public découvre alors un artiste à la plume délicate et sincère.


Des succès qui traversent les générations

Au fil des années, Francis Cabrel a enchaîné les titres devenus cultes :

  • Je l’aime à mourir

  • La corrida

  • L’encre de tes yeux

  • C’est écrit

  • Sarbacane

Chaque chanson raconte une histoire, souvent d’amour, parfois d’injustice, toujours avec cette musicalité unique qui caractérise son style.


Un engagement discret mais fort

Francis Cabrel n’est pas un chanteur engagé dans le sens militant du terme, mais il ne reste jamais indifférent aux causes qui lui tiennent à cœur. La corrida, par exemple, dénonce avec émotion la cruauté des spectacles taurins. Il soutient également les jeunes artistes à travers son association Voix du Sud, qui organise les Rencontres d’Astaffort, un tremplin pour la nouvelle génération.
