Fields represented
The editorial selection spanned music, film, fashion, sport, science, technology, entrepreneurship, philanthropy, activism and public life. The objective was to reflect different forms of influence rather than claim that one field or country mattered more than another.
Why the original ranking was revised
The earlier version mixed historical context with descriptions that could become outdated, especially political and corporate titles. Icönik removed those unstable claims and converted the page into an explicitly dated archive.
Standard for future influence lists
Future editions should publish a dated methodology, define the period being evaluated, distinguish measurable evidence from editorial judgment, identify the responsible editor and avoid presenting changing job titles as permanent facts.
