James Caan

James Caan wurde am 26. März 1940 in der Bronx geboren. Nach seiner Schauspielausbildung am Neighborhood Playhouse arbeitete er in Fernsehen und Film, bevor ihn die Rolle des Sonny Corleone in The Godfather von 1972 international berühmt machte und ihm eine Oscar-Nominierung als Nebendarsteller einbrachte.

Weit mehr als Sonny Corleone

In Brian’s Song, Misery an der Seite von Kathy Bates und der Familienkomödie Elf zeigte Caan eine große Bandbreite. Intensität, Humor und Verletzlichkeit machten ihn über Jahrzehnte in sehr unterschiedlichen Genres überzeugend.

James Caan starb am 6. Juli 2022. Sein Werk bleibt vor allem für die Fähigkeit in Erinnerung, kraftvolle Figuren mit Menschlichkeit und Spontaneität zu verbinden.
